Objectives of Basa Foundation

Basa Foundation has been established with the commitment to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged and underserved communities, particularly in rural and mountainous areas of Nepal. Our major objectives are as follows:

1. Promote Sustainable Education Opportunities
   Empower children, women, low-income families, and socially disadvantaged groups by improving their access to quality, inclusive, and sustainable education. We aim to create opportunities that enable individuals to develop knowledge, confidence, and skills for a better future.
2. Promote Skills Development and Livelihood Opportunities
   Encourage women, poor families, and disadvantaged members of society to participate in vocational, technical, and income-generating skills training. These opportunities are intended to strengthen self-reliance, improve household income, and enhance the overall quality of life.
3. Promote Health and Environmental Awareness
   Provide health, hygiene, sanitation, and environmental education through community-based awareness programs and social campaigns. We aim to encourage healthy lifestyles, responsible environmental practices, and greater community participation in protecting local resources.
4. Improve Awareness of Nutrition, Maternal Health, and Family Planning
   Raise community awareness about malnutrition, balanced nutrition, maternal and child health, reproductive health, and responsible family planning. We seek to support healthier families through education, awareness, and access to appropriate information and services.
5. Support Community Sanitation, Water Management, and Environmental Conservation
   Mobilize and encourage communities to improve sanitation, drinking water and irrigation systems, waste and rubbish management, and traditional cooking practices. We also promote forest conservation, afforestation, and measures to reduce deforestation and environmental degradation.
6. Promote Children’s Recreation, Creativity, and Physical Development
   Provide educational, recreational, sports, musical, and other creative resources and instruments that contribute to children’s mental well-being, creativity, confidence, social development, and physical fitness.
7. Promote Modern and Sustainable Agriculture
   Support smallholder and disadvantaged farmers by introducing modern, sustainable, and productive agricultural practices. Through skills training, demonstrations, workshops, and seminars, we aim to improve agricultural productivity, food security, income opportunities, and resilience to changing environmental conditions.
8. Support Rural Infrastructure and Community Facilities
   Contribute to the development of essential community infrastructure in remote and underserved areas, including bridges, health centers and medical consultation facilities, community halls, trails, pathways, and other locally needed facilities. Such initiatives aim to improve connectivity, access to essential services, and the overall well-being of rural communities.
